...North was formed by the timing and moving of the Holy Spirit. Calvary Community Church (www.calvaryphx.com) with Pastor Mark Martin, was expanding and needing more places for people to hear the Word of God. The idea of multiple sanctuaries with different genres of worship was formed. That thought was completed first with the NORTH sanctuary. With a more Raw, Alternative, Rock type of worship, former youth worship leader Ben Philips took lead in the NORTH sanctuary. Through the worship teams created, the members of NORTH were brought together. Soon after, lead singer/songwriter Ben Philips felt a calling from God to pursue creating a worship project.
